This pair of trees have made their way as minor players into several paintings, but this time they are the main feature. They look beautiful against the pink eastern winter sky and every winter morning they've delighted me. The climate has been hard on our trees the past few years, and in 2023 the tree on the left lost its top in a storm and as it was also sick, it got cut down. The one on the right became a skeleton tree and was cut down at the beginning of 2024. I'm so happy that I painted them while they still stood cozily together, a shelter against the cold.

8” x 8” oil on wood panel, 2021. In the frame, it measures 12” x 12”.
